What to Post This Week: 12 Real Estate Content Ideas That Aren’t Just Listings

If your Instagram feed is only Just Listed and Just Sold posts, people will scroll right past. Listings matter, but they're not what makes someone choose you as their agent.

People hire agents they know, like and trust. Here are 12 content ideas that build all three.

Show your expertise

1. A monthly market update. Share a few simple numbers for your area, like median price and days on market, and what they mean for buyers and sellers. Keep it short and easy to understand.

2. "Before you list, read this." A carousel with tips for sellers, like small repairs that pay off or how to prep for photos.

3. Myth vs. fact. Clear up a common real estate myth, like "You need 20% down to buy a home."

4. A quick explainer. What's a rate buydown? What are seller credits? What happens at closing? Explain one term in under 60 seconds.

Show your area

5. A neighborhood spotlight. Walk through a neighborhood you love and share what makes it special: parks, coffee shops, schools, the vibe.

6. Things to do this weekend. Share three local events. It's helpful, shareable and connects your name to your city.

7. A local business shoutout. Feature a favorite restaurant or shop. Tag them, and they'll often share it too.

Show yourself

8. A day in the life. Showings, paperwork, coffee runs, client calls. Let people see what working with you is really like.

9. Why I became an agent. Your story is something no other agent can copy.

10. A trending Reel with a real estate twist. Take a popular audio or format and make it about your world. Keep it on brand.

Show your results

11. A client story. Share how you helped a client, with their permission. Focus on the problem you solved, not just the price.

12. A Google review. Turn a great review into a simple graphic or a Reel with your voiceover.

How to mix it up

A good weekly rhythm might look like:

  • 1 to 2 Reels

  • 1 carousel with tips or a market update

  • 1 listing or client result post

  • Stories every day, even simple ones

And remember: every post should have a clear call to action, like "Comment GUIDE for my buyer checklist" or "DM me with questions."

Don't have time to plan and create it all? That's exactly what we do. Book a free strategy call and I'll show you what a month of content could look like for you.
